The standoff ended about 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, when police say Conteh attempted to run from the house, gun in hand. Police fired on Conteh once as he tried to flee the scene. The shot went wide, and Conteh was apprehended by police with the assistance of their K9 Rambo, who brought Conteh to the ground as he ran down the street.

Conteh is charged with a variety of offenses, including first degree assault on a police officer, carrying a handgun, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property.
