Bomb Squad Disarms 'Hazardous Device' in College Park

The incident comes three days after a small pipe bomb detonated outside a College Park home.

Police and explosives experts are investigating another "hazardous device" discovered in College Park, authorities said. According to Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady, the county's bomb squad responded to the 5000 block of Edgewood Road early Friday to dispose of a suspicious package. Though the device was safely neutralized, several homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution while emergency personnel completed their work. The Prince George's County Police Department; the City of Annapolis Bomb Squad; the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are all assisting in an investigation of the incident, according to Brady.
