A man charged in the fatal shooting of a University of Maryland student in January 2011 was sentenced Wednesday to 49 years in prison for first-degree murder, The Diamondback reported. Deandre Ricardo Williams, 24, was also sentenced to serve 20 years for the use of a handgun in a violent crime, which he will serve concurrently with his murder sentence, The Diamondback reported. Williams entered the College Park home of 22-year-old Justin DeSha-Overcash on Jan. 11, 2011, to rob him of money and marijuana, according to the statement from the Prince George's County State's Attorney’s Office read at a February plea hearing. Stephan Weaver was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday.
The man convicted for his role as the driver in the fatal shooting of UMd. student Justin DeSha-Overcash last year was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday, The Washington Post reports. Stephan E. Weaver, 23, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and using a handgun in a crime of violence when he drove to DeSha-Overcash's off-campus apartment on Jan. 11, 2011 to rob him. Weaver, 23, of Bowie, faces sentencing this morning for armed robbery and handgun charges, after pleading guilty for his role as the getaway driver in the murder of 22-year-old University of Maryland student Justin DeSha-Overcash. The Hyattsville man charged for fatally shooting a University of Maryland student could be found guilty of first-degree murder and handgun crimes. Deandre Ricardo Williams, 24, appeared in Prince George's County Circuit Court Friday afternoon, when he pleaded "not guilty statement of facts."
