Federal prosecutors say Xavier Eccleston, 35, distributed crack and powder cocaine he bought in Prince George's County.
A Bethesda man has been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for dealing powder and crack cocaine that he bought in Prince George's County, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland. Federal prosecutors said Xavier Eccleston, 35, re-distributed between 500 grams and five kilograms of powder cocaine and 28 grams of crack cocaine per month between June 2010 and September 2011. Eccleston bought the drugs from suppliers in Prince George’s County, including from a Landover crack house, according to the release. Eccleston sometimes arranged the drug deals over the phone, prosecutors said. A federal judge found that Eccleston obstructed justice, according to the release, after a witness …

Criminals in Prince George's County are stealing Tide laundry detergent from stores and trading it for marijuana and crack, according to Sgt. Aubrey Thompson, head of the Prince George's County Police crime unit that investigates retail crimes. Thompson went live on KPCC's Take Two radio show in Southern California Wednesday and talked about why hardened criminals are turning to Tide. They aren't using it to make the drugs. But its popularity as a laundry detergent gives it bartering power, he explained. A 21-year-old fired shots at a corporal and eluded capture multiple times before he was arrested, according to the PGPD.
Prince George's County Police have identified the officers involved in last week's College Park shootout, in which a man tripping on PCP allegedly evaded capture multiple times before being apprehended. According to the PGPD, patrol officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Lakeland Road Thursday around 10:24 p.m. after a report of a man on drugs wielding a gun. Cpl. Jordan Swonger was the first to arrive on scene, where he allegedly observed the suspect—21-year-old Andrey McKoy—and the suspect's mother walking toward him. Police said McKoy pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots at Swonger, several of which hit the officer's cruiser. Seriously i'm happy they have the distributor, BUT, there can be no sale without a buyer and they need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in this case, for justice to be exacted.
