Twenty-year-old David Johnathan Scherr was last seen in a Ravens shirt with white plaid shorts.
A University of Maryland student has been missing since Dec. 19, according to officials, and police are hoping the public can help them find the college student. David Johnathan Scherr, 20, was last seen on campus in College Park at 2 p.m. in a Ravens shirts and white plaid shorts. Police said he may have been driving a black 2013 Ford Escape with Maryland tags 3AX4875. PGPD Cpl. Maria McKinney said today that no new information is available and did not respond to whether or not foul play was involved. Anyone with information on David Scherr's whereabouts is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s District I Investigative Section at (301) 699-2601.

By Erin Durkin, Capital News Service Veronica Martinez-Vargas, a 19-year-old illegal immigrant from Salisbury, couldn't believe it when she turned in her application for the Deferred Action program enacted in June by the Obama administration. "It was overwhelming," she said. The program either stops or prevents deportation proceedings for undocumented youths for two years and allows them to obtain a work permit. To apply, immigrants had to be under age 31 as of June 15, 2012, but at least age 15. They also must prove they entered the country before their 16th birthday and lived in the U.S. since June 15, 2007. I'm not old enough to have a child leaving for college, but others in my family are ... it's a milestone that shouldn't go uncelebrated.
Recently I had one of those moments, when as an adult you feel “old” or maybe it’s the first time you confront the realization of how old you actually are. What sparked this? Was it the fact that I have 2 kids in elementary school? Nope. Was it when I sat at the dinner table and didn’t have to cut anyone’s food before my own? No, not that time either. It was when I attended my cousin’s graduation party. Kevin, also known as “Cuddles”, graduated high school. This is a kid that I remember changing his diaper! Patch asked around campus to see how people felt about Campus Drive being closed.
Campus Drive, a major road on the University of Maryland's campus, has been temporarily closed during the summer in an effort to create a greener and more pedestrian-friendly environment. The second phase of the restrictions, which closed the road to all vehicles except those used in emergencies, began in mid-July. The road will reopen to the public on Saturday. In this video, we asked several people what they thought of the closures.
