College Park City Council Reviews 2012 Action Plan For Last Time

The city council will vote on the FY2012 Action Plan next week.

After hours of debate at previous meetings, the College Park city council reviewed its 2012 Action Plan Tuesday night at a worksession with little discussion. It will be voted on next Tuesday’s City Council meeting. If approved, the plan would go into effect July 1, 2011. The plan recently removed the controversial decision to buy No. 1 Liquors. It also added an item requiring the council to meet with the county to clarify code enforcement and permitting processes.  The council would eventually provide a permitting guide to residents. Brainstorming the Future of College Park

City officials hold work session to discuss ideas for improvement in fiscal 2012.

College Park officials held a brainstorming session Monday night to begin crafting a list of goals the city wants to accomplish during the next fiscal year, which begins July 1. Mayor Andrew Fellows, the city council and other staff members held a two-hour meeting at City Hall to discuss tentative ideas on a wide range of subjects including the city website, public safety, housing and marketing efforts that will eventually make up the fiscal 2012 Action Plan.
