Friends Community School (FCS) was founded in 1986 by Adelphi Friends Meeting, and serves grades Kingergarten through eight. In keeping with its Quaker foundation, the school emphasizes life-long learning, courageous risk-taking, and joyous peace-making. The current site of FCS, which it has occupied since 2007, boasts expansive natural surroundings, as well as the largest known straw bale insulated building in the world.
