Water Quality Monitoring Workshop

FREE Water Quality Monitoring Training Workshop

Learn how to check the health of Indian Creek by using basic test for water quality.No prior knowledge of chemistry or biology is needed- just curiosity about the Creek!


Participants in this workshop will:

  • Measure pH and dissolved oxygen
  • Measure temperature and turbidity
  • Practice habitat assessment surveys
  • Capture and identify benthic macroinvertebrates

As a participant, you will be able to practice your training with students in a summer workshop, teaching them the methods that you learned.

Instructor: Maria Sgambati, MD
Maria is a trained biologist and physician who currently works as an educator, outreach coordinator, and consultant with organizations such as Audubon Naturalist Society, National Capital Region Watershed Stewards Academy, and local Master Naturalist programs.
