National Stress Øut Day Carnival
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for college students. 6 out of 10 surveyed college students report feeling so stressed they could not complete their work on one or more occasions. For college students, taking care of mental health is just as important as taking care of grades; which is why Active Minds, Inc., is sponsoring the 7th annual National Stress Øut Day. This event is a nationwide effort to provide pre-finals stress relief and educate students about the difference between everyday anxiety and an anxiety disorder or other mental illness.
Active Minds at Maryland is hosting a National Stress Øut Day Carnival on Thursday, April 19 from 11am-4pm at the University of Maryland. Highlights include an inflatable obstacle course, puppies, free italian ice, and a performance by a student improv group. Active Minds at Maryland want to teach students that mental health matters during this stressful time in their careers.
