New Charter School to Open in College Park in 2013

The Prince George's County School Board approved the plan for a middle school to open in fall 2013.

Prince George's County middle school students will have another option when it comes to their education, as the county's school board approved a plan Thursday to open a charter school in the fall of 2013.

Three hundred students will be able to attend the College Park Academy Public Charter School, and experiement with learning in both an in-class and online environment, according to The Gazette.

The academy will run in partnership with the University of Maryland and the city of College Park and will cost the school system about $2.4 million, The Gazette reported.
