The Age of Uncertainty: Why Online Journalism?

The Merrill Graduate Student Association and The Media House, the University of Maryland student organization for journalism, public relations and networking, will host a provocative and enlightening online journalism panel and networking event titled THE AGE OF UNCERTAINTY: WHY ONLINE JOURNALISM? The event—which will be held in Room 3202 of Knight Hall—will be moderated by senior broadcast major Eugene Obah. Trif Alatzas (Head of Digital Media, The Baltimore Sun), Danny Jacobs (Legal Affairs Writer, The Daily Record), Jackie Sauter (Assistant Director—Digital Communications, Kogod School of Business, American University), and senior print journalism major Ally Lopez (Writer/Blogger, Her Campus Media) are scheduled to participate on the panel. In addition to an engaging discussion about online journalism and its effects on traditional media, the panel will provide advice and insight as to what you should be doing RIGHT NOW in order to try and secure an internship or a job in the industry. Immediately following the event, you will have the opportunity to network with the panel over refreshments. You are strongly encouraged to bring your resumes and dress business casual.
