College Park Graduating Senior Recognized for Public Service
Congressman Van Hollen announces award winners.
This week, College Park resident Melanie Marguerite Kylis was named winner of the 2011 Van Hollen Public Service Award at Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington.
Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen (D-Dist. 8) established the awards to recognize graduating seniors who exemplify public service in their schools and/or communities.
Each school in the district was invited to nominate a student for the honor.
