College Park Area Pools Now Accepting Members

Here are some local pools area families may want to join this summer.

The weather is already warming up out there and summer is mere weeks away, so for families considering joining a pool, now is the time.

There’s a large variety of pools and splash parks, both public and private, in Prince George’s County.

Here are options in College Park. Be sure to check out the website for each, as the memberships often include access to special classes, discounts or guest passes:

  • The Ellen Linson Pool, 5211 Paint Branch Pkwy., is a county-operated pool and open to the public from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In addition to the daily per person fee schedule, there is also the option of purchasing a monthly swim pass that ranges in price from $14 to $48 depending on the age and residency of the pass holder. Daily admission fees range from $3.50 to $6 depending on age and residency.

Swim hours are from noon to 6 p.m. during the week, and noon to 7 p.m. on the weekends.

  • , 3545 Malbrough Way, opens May 26 and is currently taking applications for individuals ($225); couples ($275); and families ($475). College students can also purchase a membership for $80. Find more membership information here.

The facility is open from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday through Sunday, and 1 to 6 p.m. on holidays.

Annual Membership with CRS is $465. Semester memberships (fall, spring and summer) are $155 each. Membership for summer session 1 (Aug. 28 to July 8) is $77.50, and membership for summer session 2 (July 8 to Aug. 28) is $77.50.
Day passes are $7 per day.

The indoor pool operates from 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays; 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sundays.

The outdoor pool at Eppley is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. everyday.

Here are some other options in the county:

The Adelphi Pool, 9442 Riggs Road, Hyattsville, is a privately-run facility open to members only and their guests. The pool has a swim team, a slide, a snack bar, and a toddler pool. Fees range from $375 to $550, with an additional $85 maintenance fee. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The Whitehall Pool and Tennis Club, 12424 Whitehall Road, Bowie, is set to open on May 19, which will also serve as an open house for prospective members. There is a swim team, and swim lessons are free for the first week and $20 per week thereafter. Membership fees range from $495 to $595. The pool is open until Labor Day and is only open to members and their guests.

Belair Bath and Tennis, at the intersection of Tulip Drive and Belair Road in Bowie, will open on Saturday, May 26, with an open house occurring from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 20. It features a six-lane, 25-meter pool with a 3- to 4-foot area, a diving board and superslide. The membership fee is $515. There is a swim team and free swim and tennis lessons for members. The pool is open until Labor Day and only available to members and their guests.

Belair Swim and Racquet Club, located at 12728 Midwood Lane in Bowie, is also opening Memorial Day weekend and has a large pool and a smaller pool for children that includes a water slide. The pool also has a swim team and offer up to two weeks of swim lessons free of charge. The membership fee is $600, and annual dues are an additional $475. The pool is only open to members and their guests.

Pointer Ridge Swim and Racquet Club, 16505 Poole Lane, Bowie, is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and features a large pool, a family pool, and a baby pool. They have a swim team and swim lessons available for a fee. Memberships can be part of full season and range from $124 to $500 in price. The pool is only open to members and their guests.

The Hamilton Splash Park, 3901 Hamilton St., Hyattsville, is operated by the county and open from late May until Labor Day. Daily and monthly passes are available, ranging from $3.50 to $6 depending on age and residency of applicant, and size of group. Monthly admission ranges from $14 to $48. Birthday parties are available by reservation.

, 101 Centerway, Greenbelt, offers both an indoor and outdoor pool to residents and nonresidents of the city. Memberships can be purchased for just the summer, for half of the summer, or for a full 12 months. Prices range from $57 to $484 for Greenbelt residents, and $132 to $632 for nonresidents. Day passes can also be purchased for between $2.50 and $4.50 for residents and $3.30 to $5.50 for nonresidents. The indoor pool is open year-round, and the outdoor pool is open seasonally.
