Rep. Donna Edwards Seeking Interns and Committee Members

College students and recent graduates are sought for internships, and community leaders are sought for advisory committee positions.

College students looking for political internships need look no further than District 4 Rep. Donna Edwards.

Although the deadline was last week, Edwards is still looking for unpaid summer interns and volunteer advisory committee members, according to the Gazette.

Legislative, constituent service, and outreach interns are being sought and qualified applicants could serve in either the Washington, DC congressional offices or the Silver Spring district offices.

Qualified applicants will be detail oriented and well organized with strong oral and written communications skills and a dedication to community service.  Tasks vary from administrative in nature, to attending task force meetings, monitoring media coverage, conducting research, and gathering information.

Edwards is also seeking community leaders to fill positions on four advisory committees - Education Advisory Committee, Nonprofit Advisory Committee, Senior Citizen Advisory Committee and Small Business Advisory Committee.

Committee members would use their expertise to work with Edwards and her staff, voicing their concerns, making recommendations, and suggesting legislation on issues relevant to their committees.
