Council Could Approve 2013 Budget at Tuesday's Meeting

College Park fourth-graders will also be recognized for performance in "If I Were Mayor" essay contest.

Council could adopt the fiscal year s at Tuesday night's College Park Mayor and Council meeting, but the highlight of the night might be the recognition of College Park fourth-graders who placed in the Maryland Municipal League's "If I Were Mayor Contest."

, who goes to , was one of 10 regional winners. Other school and semi-finalist winners will also be present, representing , ,  and . Last year, .

Council is set to approve two items on the consent agenda:

  • The  seeks to construct an addition. Council plans to approve—with conditions—an application from the church for a special exception; and approval of applications for variance and departure from number of parking and loading spaces.
  • Council plans to voice no objection for an application by the incoming Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, 7419 Baltimore Ave., for a new Class B, BLX, Beer, Wine and Liquor License, upon the applicant and the city signing a property use agreement.

In addition to the , council will also approve new members for city boards and committees.
