College Park Residents Encouraged to Attend Cafritz Development Discussion

Community invited to discuss proposed retail development in Riverdale Park.

Cafritz Property will present its retail development plan for a portion of Riverdale Park Monday night, and residents of College Park are encouraged to attend.

Members of "Route 1 Coalition" sent out flyers over the weekend inviting residents to go to the presentation. The letter was signed by members of the coalition from College Park, Berwyn Heights, Riverdale Park, University Park and Hyattsville.

The Cafritz proposal will include plans for developing a 35.8-acre wooded area on the northern edge Riverdale Park into a multi-use retail property, that would include a Whole Foods Market.

Concerns have been raised in the past over possible , as the property is located on U.S. Route 1.

The Cafritz presentation will begin around 7:30 p.m., following a town meeting set for 6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of .
