City Council Worksession Preview

A summary of the major agenda items for Tuesday's meeting.

The College Park City council will convene for it's twice-monthly worksession Tuesday at 8 p.m. Meetings and worksessions are held in the Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 4500 Knox Rd.

Domain College Park:

After a few weeks of discussions, the council has worked out an agreement with the Domain College Park developer to reduce the amount of money allotted for a bike-share station. Initially, , but has agreed to lower it to $31,000, which will finance a 4-bike, 7-dock bike-share station. Tonight the council will discuss some amendments to the current agreement, including measures to ensure that the housing cater to professional and graduate-students instead of undergrads, as well as ensuring that the public has access to one of the recreational facilities that the developer will be providing.

Annual Liquor License Renewals:

The city will be reviewing the activity of every liquor-license owning business in the city, and assessing whether they are in compliance with liquor laws. The city will then decide whether they should challenge the renewal of the license. Now that the Thirsty Turtle is gone, councilmembers don't anticipate any problems, but you never know.
