University of Maryland Student Attacked and Robbed

Student loses wallet and cell phone to attackers; suffered minor injuries.

The Prince George’s County Police has reclassified Friday's alleged citizen robbery as a simple assualt, determining that the two accused suspects did not rob the victim. Rather, the victim misplaced his cell phone and wallet, according to a statement from the police.

The incident ensued from an altercation from within the which continued outside, culminating in the victim being assaulted by the other party, according to the statement.

Prince George's County Police are investigating a violent robbery that occurred early Friday morning in College Park, according to a statement prepared by police.

According to the release, two men attacked and robbed a male University of Maryland student at the 7400 block of Baltimore Avenue at 2:10 a.m. after meeting him at the earlier that night.

The two males began punching and kicking the victim, who briefly lost consciousness and awoke to find his cell phone and wallet were stolen, according to the release.

The victim was treated on the scene for minor injuries, according to the release.

Police describe the suspects as follows:

  • Hispanic Male, 23, black hair; 5 feet 10 inches; 170 lbs.
  • Hispanic Male, 21, black hair; 5 feet 10 inches; 150 lbs.
