Two Teens Arrested in Bladensburg Beating Death

The suspects, 16 and 17 years old, face charges of first-degree murder and robbery.

Prince George's County police have arrested two Hyattsville-area teenagers in the killing of a 54-year-old man in Bladensburg over the weekend.

At approximately 11 p.m. Saturday, Bladensburg police officers responded to the 5200 block of Newton Street on a report of "disorderly individuals drinking and chasing each other with a shovel." When units arrived, authorities said, they found a man dead on the side of the road.

Police have identified the victim as David Krupski, a resident of nearby Newton Street.

Krupski's body was found within a few hundred yards of his house, according to police. He had apparently been robbed and had suffered some form of trauma to his torso. His body has been taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiners in Baltimore for an autopsy.

Homicide detectives quickly identified two teenage boys, one 16 and the other 17, as suspects in the killing. Investigators say the teens both gave statements admitting to robbing, chasing, and beating Krupski to death.
