Timonium Man Charged in Girlfriend's Strange Severe Beating

Police say a couple's romantic night took a violent turn in Timonium.

A Timonium man has been accused of severely beating and attempting to kill his girlfriend on Dec. 23, according to charging documents.

The suspect, Andre Jones Lewis II, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and felony possession of a shotgun, according to court records.

Police interviewed Lewis and his girlfriend, who suffered "extensive bruising to both eyes and multiple facial lacerations," as well as additional bodily trauma, according to Baltimore County police.

Lewis, 37, initially told police that his girlfriend's wounds were self-inflicted. "He further stated that [she] cut herself with a knife and fell down the stairs," the report reads. He later declined to be interviewed by police after he was arrested at the Pioneer Pub, where he worked as a cook.

Lewis's girlfriend told police that he arrived at her Evans Avenue home—which she shares with Lewis—at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 23. She said they both showered and engaged in consensual sex before Lewis allegedly began smoking marijuana and "acting strangely," the report stated.

The night then took a violent turn—as described by police.

"Lewis asked the victim to go downstairs in the basement with him and the victim inquired as to the reason. Lewis stated that he was going to kill the victim," the report reads.

Lewis's girlfriend told police she didn't believe him, at first. Lewis reportedly picked her up off the bed and placed her on the floor. They kissed, while Lewis told his girlfriend that he loved her. The girlfriend then told police that he began to strangle her and that she told him to stop as she became afraid.

"Lewis initially stopped but then stood over the victim and reportedly punched her 'full force' in the nose with his fist," the report states.

The next thing the girlfriend told police she remembered was waking up to police and fire personnel tending to her injuries in the basement of her home shortly after 4 a.m. She couldn't account for the additional injuries. Blood stains were found throughout the home, including the master bedroom floor, basement stairs and basement floor, according to the report.

Police arrested Lewis at the Pioneer Pub in Parkton, after responding to a 911 call regarding a stolen car. The report states that police were initially unaware of the alleged assault, the report states.

Police obtained a warrant and conducted a search of the Timonium home.

The search yielded a knife in a box under the master bed, a knife with a white handle in a basket on the night stand, shotgun shells in a box in the night stand and three steak knives in the kitchen drawer. The girlfriend told police that Lewis had brought a shotgun over to her home earlier in the week. Police found it under the mattress in the master bedroom in addition to a .22 caliber rifle in the living room closet, according to the report.

"A record check of suspect Lewis found him to be a convicted felon and is prohibited under both State and Federal law from possessing any firearms," the report states.

Lewis is facing a total of 80 years in prison if convicted of all charges, according to the charging document.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 18.

You people who nothing about What your talking about should keep your uneducated guesses and comments to yourself! Marijuana does not make you violent. And to say it is laced with something is irresponsible and unfair. Wait until all the facts are out before you make yourself a look stupid.

Brian, you are correct. PCP will make you do strange things. I know people that had violent reactions from smoking PCP.
