Trial Rescheduled for Suspect Arrested in Connection to UMd. Student Shooting Death

According to the Circuit Court, the trial for Stephan E. Weaver has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, October 11. Deandre Ricardo Williams is still scheduled to appear in court 9:30 Friday.

A man who was arrested in March in connection with the January shooting death of a University of Maryland student is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning, according to court documents.

According to documents, Weaver drove himself and Deandre Ricardo Williams to DeSha-Overcash's College Park home on Jan. 11 to rob him of money and drugs. Police said Williams entered the house with a handgun and shot DeSha-Overcash twice, while Weaver remained in the car.
Weaver, 23, appeared in District Court on May 18, where initial charges of first-degree assault and armed robbery — both felonies — were reduced to misdemeanors of second-degree assault and theft of less than $1,000.
Williams is scheduled to appear in circuit court Friday.
