Student Mugged On Campus

A student was walking on campus alone at 4:30 a.m. when he was jumped by three suspects

A University of Maryland student was mugged on campus early Sunday morning.

The student was walking on the sidewalk near Anne Arundel Hall around 4:30 a.m. when he was accosted by three suspects, police said. One of the suspects tackled him to the ground and told him to give up his stuff. The student surrendered his wallet and cell phone, at which point the suspects fled toward Lot 1.

University Police Spokeswoman Carolyn Consoli said that cameras are positioned in the area, though police are still unsure as to whether video footage of the incident is available.
