Single-Family Fire Extinguished, Family Displaced

A single-family house on 91st Avenue caught on fire Sunday night.

 

A fire in a single-family home in College Park injured no one, but displaced its residents Sunday night.

Firefighters from the Branchville Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to a house fire in the 9600 block of 91st Avenue. The fire started in the home's kitchen. Seven fire trucks and two emergency medical service vehicles responded, and the fire was quickly extinguished, said Mark E. Brady, chief spokesman for Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.

The cause of the fire, which resulted in about $25,000 worth of damages, is under investigation, but nothing sinister is suspected, Brady added.
