As county homicide county continues to climb, Prince George's County Police ramps up patrols around the area.

According to the Associated Press, Prince George's County Police started a summer crime initiative, increasing patrols in county areas that have seen the most violence.

The effort, which began May 22, added more patrols to Langley Park, Riverdale, Suitland, Hillcrest Heights and Glassmanor, where the most murders, non-fatal shootings, carjackings and robberies occurred so far this year.

Police are also set to increase gang and drug enforcement in these areas as well.
