Police Search for Suspect in String of Armed Robberies

Pizza Hut became the latest target on Wednesday evening.

Update, Thursday: Police believe that same suspect is responsible for multiple armed robberies that have occurred around the city over the past month.

The most recent robbery happened Wednesday evening, when the suspect walked into , displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register, police said. The victim complied, and the suspect took an undetermined amount of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.

Similar armed robberies happened in three other locations around the city: on Monday at (see story below), at Jerry's Subs and Pizza on Sunday, .

In each instance, the suspect entered the establishment, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the register before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 20 and 30-years-old. He is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds. Police say they believe the suspect has worn different masks in each robbery, but consistently wears dark jeans and latex gloves. He was also armed with a handgun in each robbery.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905.

Original Story: Police are searching for a suspect who committed an armed robbery at on Monday evening.

According to police spokesperson Cpl. Henry Tippett, a suspect entered the diner around 9 p.m. holding a silver revolver-style handgun. The suspect approached the register and demanded money from the victim, who was the sole employee behind the counter. The victim complied and the suspect fled. Tippet said that the total amount stolen was around $40.

The suspect is described as as a black male, between 5 feet and 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs between 150 and 160 pounds. He was wearing a white ski mask, a black jacket and black pants, and was holding a silver handgun.

Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-TIPS (8477) or CID-Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905 as soon as possible, and refer to case number 11-052-2558. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of the suspects responsible for the robbery.
