Police Looking for Suspects in Grocery Store Armed Robbery

A $1000 reward is being offered to the tip that leads to the arrest.

County police are on the lookout for two suspects who committed an armed robbery on Saturday night at the El Cordoves Grocery store on the 9300 block of Rhode Island Ave.

According to Dist. 1 Commander Maj. Robert Liberati, two suspects each armed with a black handgun entered the store around 8 p.m. and demanded money from the register. The two victims behind the counter complied, and also handed over some of their own belongings. No injuries were reported, and the suspects fled on foot toward Rhode Island Avenue.

Liberati described the suspects as Hispanic males in their twenties. One of the suspects is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds. The other is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs approximately 16o pounds and was wearing a black mask. Both suspects were wearing blue jeans and black hoodies, and both were carrying black handguns. Liberati added that no vehicle was seen.

Police are offering $1000 to anyone who provides the tip that leads to the suspect's arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477.
