Police Arrest Man in Connection to Norwich Road Armed Robbery

Police recently arrested a man for allegedly robbing three individuals while he brandished a gun at a home on Norwich Road, according to police.

After pulling over Ronald Francois Jr., 21, during a routine traffic stop, University of Maryland Police connected him to the armed robbery that occurred on Dec. 10, and he was arrested by Prince George's County Police. Francois now faces three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of armed robbery and one count of illegal use of a firearm, according to court documents.

Spokesman Marc Limansky told The Diamondback that when university police pulled over Francois during the traffic stop, they didn’t know he was a suspect, but the vehicle and its occupants fit the description of those involved in the armed robbery.

On Saturday, Dec. 10, Francois and another suspect allegedly left a house party at the 4600 block of Norwich Road, following an altercation, then returned that night with a handgun that they used to rob three individuals, according to UMd. Police.

The Diamondback reported that police have yet to arrest another suspect, who is described as a Hispanic man between 5-feet-2-inches and 5-feet-5-inches with both arms tattooed.

Francois has previously been charged with two counts of theft under $100 and issued one citation for an open alcoholic container violation, according to a court document search.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9 at the Prince George’s County Courthouse in Upper Marlboro, according to court documents.
