Officers Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Hit and Run

Man dead after accident in Beltsville.

Update, Oct. 20: The driver of the vehicle has yet to be charged in this hit-and-run fatal accident, Prince George's County Police Spokesman Cpl. Evan Baxter said.

The police have not received an update on the identification of the pedestrian, Baxter said.

Original Story, Oct. 12: One man is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Beltsville, according to a police statement.

Here are the details according to the statement:

Police were called to the area near Montgomery Road and Baltimore Avenue at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, where they found an unconscious man. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A witness account soon led police to the 4500 block of Romlon Street, where they found the vehicle and driver who they suspect struck the man.

The accident is under investigation.
