Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident on University Boulevard
A Hyattsville man was pronounced dead on the scene after he crashed into a barrier.
A 49-year-old Hyattsville man was killed early Sunday morning while driving a motorcycle on University Boulevard at Baltimore Avenue. His passenger, a 43-year-old woman, also from Hyattsville, has been hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries at Prince George's Hospital.
The two were traveling westbound on University Boulevard and approaching the overpass at Baltimore Avenue near MD-193 when the driver failed to negotiate a lane barrier and crashed. No other vehicles were involved, and the man was pronounced dead on the scene when police arrived around 4 a.m.
University Boulevard was closed for several hours but has since been reopened.
