Shortly before 9 a.m. the State Police at the College Park Barrack received a call from a motorist who reported that a man appeared to be slumped over in a box truck parked on the shoulder of the outer loop of I-495, about one-tenth of a mile south of the I-95 north split.

Troopers arrived and found the man slumped over between the seats in the cab of the box truck. Prince George’s County Fire and EMS personnel responded and determined the man was deceased. Criminal investigators responded from the College Park Barrack and a forensic investigator from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

There were no immediately obvious signs of trauma on the man and no evidence of foul play. The vehicle did not appear to have been involved in a traffic crash.

The man’s body will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.

State Police from the College Park Barrack are investigating the death.
