Man Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Sell Phone to Original Owner

Undercover officer posed as phone owner to arrest Riverdale man.

William Aparicio-Villacorta, age 30 of Riverdale was recently arrested for attempting to sell a cell phone back to it's original owner.

The owner used a friend's phone to text the missing Motorola Droid X, and received a response that the phone was found and would be sold back to him for $150.

He then notified University of Maryland Police, who sent a plain clothed officer to make the exchange. After Aparicio-Villacorta showed the undercover officer the phone, the officer identified himself and arrested the suspect, according to a recent Gazette story.
