UPDATE: Firefighters Battle 2 College Park Blazes
A family is displaced; two firefighters suffer minor burn injuries late Sunday.
Update, 1:43 p.m.: A College Park home and a local business sustained significant fire damage in separate incidents late Sunday evening, according to Mark Brady, a spokesman for the Prince George's County Fire Department.
- Private residence in the 7300 block of Baylor Avenue:
Firefighters responded to the 7300 block of Baylor Avenue in the Yarrow community at approximately 10:15 p.m. to a fire on the first floor of a multi-level home, Brady said.
The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes, he said.

Two firefighters sustained minor burn injuries and were transported to the Burn Unit at Washington Hospital Center, where they were treated and released. A resident of the home also sustained a minor burn injury while exiting the house; however, they were not transported to the hospital, Brady said.
The family is displaced due to the extensive damages.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was due to a fireplace mishap, Brady said, adding that the fire caused an estimated $175,000 in fire loss to the structure and contents.
- College Park Honda Dealership on Route 1:
Firefighters responded to the College Park Honda Dealership in the 9300 block of Baltimore Avenue to smoke billowing from the two-story commercial structure and quickly located a fire inside the building, according to Brady.
The fire was quickly contained and extinguished in about 15 minutes, he said. No injuries were reported.
Damages are estimated at $100,000; the cause of the fire was determined to be a electrical malfunction, Brady said.
Original post, 12:18 p.m.: Two fires in College Park late Sunday night sent two firefighters to the hospital with minor burn injuries, WJLA reports.
A fire broke out at 10:15 p.m. at a home at the 7300 block on Baylor Ave. Sunday, displacing a family, according to WJLA. Firefighters were then rushed to a fire at a car dealership on Baltimore Avenue, according to WJLA.
The causes of the fires are under investigation.
