College Park Resident Charged in Fatal Collision

Police said Michael Dalton struck a scooter in Rockville, leaving one 30-year-old man dead.

A College Park man is charged in an accident that killed the driver of a motor scooter last week.

Michael Charles Dalton Jr., 22, of the 10200 block of Baltimore Avenue, was handed three charges after he failed to stop at a crash scene in Rockville early Thursday morning, according to a police report.

Police stopped Dalton, who was traveling on Rockville Pike with a motor scooter attached to his 1997 Buick LeSabre.

The man who was driving the scooter was identified as Roberto Nassar, of the unit block of South Frederick Road.

Dalton was released on Friday after posting bond, which was lowered from $1 million to $15,000. Dalton's next court hearing is at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 21 at the Rockville District Courthouse.
