Baltimore Avenue was shut down on its northbound side through Riverdale Park about 3:30 p.m. Friday after two cars, including a University of Maryland police vehicle, were involved in an accident at the intersection with East-West Highway.
UMD Police Major Chris Jagoe said two officers were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Jagoe said Riverdale Park police were investigating the cause of the accident.
East-West Highway was partially shut down, with traffic getting by in one lane on each side. Northbound Route 1 was reopening as of 4 p.m.
Police were detouring motorists through Riverdale Park and University Park's streets.
