Update: Armed Robbery Reported on Baltimore Avenue

Police investigated the crime near the University of Maryland's campus Wednesday night.

Update, 9 a.m.: Prince George’s County Police responded Wednesday night for an armed robbery that had occurred off campus at around 10:30 p.m. behind the View apartment complex.

A female student was walking toward the View when a man approached her with a handgun and robbed her. The man then fled away from campus.

The Prince George's County Police Department is conducting an investigation.

Update, 12 a.m.: Campus police have given an all clear.

Original Post, 11:06 p.m.: University of Maryland Police sent an alert Wednesday night after an armed robbery was reported in College Park.

Police said the robbery occurred behind the University View Apartments at 8204 Baltimore Avenue. The suspect is still on the loose, according to police.

A male subject fled north on Rt. 1 away from campus, according to University of Maryland Police.
