VIDEO: College Park Markets May Soon Offer Free-Range Eggs, Ice Cream

Patch paid a visit to the Millers in Clinton, who currently operate the two farmers' markets in College Park.

While the city considers appointing a commission that would guide the future of the City Hall Farmers' Market, Miller Farms in Clinton will continue to manage both of College Park's markets this spring, through the fall.

The farmers market in the parking lot of  will begin its second year of operation on Sunday, running from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Brad Miller, 24, will be in charge, just as last year.

His father, Phil Miller, 59, will continue to manage the market at the on Paint Branch Parkway, beginning Saturday, May 5, operating from 7 a.m. until noon.

Patch visited the Millers to learn about the the markets' history and operation, as well as plans for this years' markets.

Not all the food that the Millers sell at the College Park markets is grown at their farm—something that customers have occasionally criticized them about, Phil Miller and Brad Miller said. They buy produce from other farmers to sell at the College Park markets, and at their own daily operation in Clinton to create one-stop-shopping experiences, they said.

Produce not grown by the Millers comes from within an hour of Clinton, except for items like bananas, which the younger Miller said come from outside the country.
