Getting Pumped Up: Maryland Day 2011 in Photos

Not excited for Maryland Day, yet? Reminiscing about last year might help.

If you're still not sure what this is, perhaps a few photos from last year's festival can prepare you the best. Check out the gallery, full of photos from the 2011 open house at the University of Maryland.

It's a day to catch up on all things UMd. The colleges will share information about their programs, and engage visitors with family-friendly activities. Terp athletes will be around for autographs, and a few recognizable names (Elmo! Or at least his creator...) will be around for the day, too. .

Don't forget to find me, too. I'll be around to share Patch swag and information about the site. Tweet at me—@CollegePrkPatch—to find me on campus.

More than 97,200 students and prospective students and their family members, alumni and community members swarmed the College Park campus last year for Maryland Day.

But make sure to do an anti-rain dance so that Maryland Day can reach the same numbers this year. Saturday's forecast has been questionable all week.
