There will be a main tournament and a side tournament.
The main tournament will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The main tournament will consist of a seeding phase and a double elimination phase.
The seeding portion will be eight rounds of four or three player games. Groups will be randomly selected.
Players will play each other at most one time during the seeding phase.
Scoring will be 10-6-3-1 for four player games and 10-6-3 for three player games.
Slam tilts will score a zero.
After every player has played eight games, the top half of the field will be placed in the A Division, the bottom half will play B Division.
Then the double elimination, head-to-head phase will take place.
During the elimination portion of the tournament, the higher seed will have choice of order or game.
The winners of the tournament will be determined by the results of the elimination bracket.
There will be bounties on all nine games used for the main tournament.
These may be score thresholds, such as 750M on DW, or objectives, such as 100M bonus on TZ.
The first player to achieve the score/objective will receive the $20 bounty.
Players may only win one bounty each.
WPPR points will be awarded.
Extra balls will be disabled. Death saves and Bang Backs will not be allowed.
Tilts will be tight. Physical abuse of the pinball machines such as kicking, lifting and then dropping, or punching the glass, will not be tolerated and may be cause for elimination from the tournament.
The Classics Tournament will run from noon to 8:30 p.m. There will be a classics tournament held on Harlem Globetrotters. Each entry will cost three dollars and will consist of one game. Players may only purchase one entry at a time, but are allowed to enter the Classics tournament multiple times.
The four players with the highest scores recorded by 8:30 p.m. will play one final game to determine the winner. During the qualifying from noon to 8:30 p.m., only the player's highest score will be recorded.
First and Second place in the tournament will receive pilsner glasses engraved on the front and back.
All money collected for the Classics Tournament (less money for the pilsner glasses) will be paid to the winners 40/30/20/10.
I will not be playing in either tournament.
Beverages are available at the bar. There are many food options within walking distance, and outside food is allowed inside the bar.
There is a TOPS tournament running on WPT that ends on the day of the tournament. I believe that it ends at 9 p.m.
Check back soon for more details.
If you have any questions about the tournaments, post them here or send me an email.
I hope to see you there!
