Young Catholics: Pope Francis Energizes Faithful at UMD
With a puff of white smoke, a new era of the church began Wednesday.
Catholic students at the University of Maryland watched and waited for the white smoke to rise from the Vatican on Wednesday. When it came, they were pleased to see that the College of Cardinals had selected the first pontiff from outside Europe in more than a millennium.
