What a Year It's Been in Weather

A look back at the high snow and precipitation totals in 2010 in Prince George's County.

As we are nearing the end of 2010 — and coming upon the anniversary of December 2009's snowpocalypse — we here at Patch thought it would be a fine time to look back at the snow and precipitation totals for the year in Prince George's County.

Thanks to our friends at the Sterling Forecast Office of the National Weather Service, and particularly to Calvin Meadows, the observation programs leader there, we bring you the top five days of snowfall and precipitation (the latter defined as rain or the liquid equivalent).

*Disclaimer: These numbers are current as of Dec. 8. We still have some days to go in the month, and we really hope we're not jinxing all of us by putting these out here before the end of the month.

The observing station in Prince George's County is located in Beltsville, so the numbers here are related to that location. We know some of you may have pulled out your yardsticks and found slightly different numbers, depending on where you live in the county. If the mood strikes you, share some of your photos of that crazy moment in weather with us.

Without further ado...
