Week in Review: Cafritz, Schools and the Holidays

It's a roundup of local news for those who slept through last week.

Cafritz

In Cafritz news this week, the developers behind the Whole Foods Market and mixed-use project for Riverdale Park agreed ,  of area municipalities. As a result, the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission postponed the hearing about the zoning change the developers request. The hearing is now tentatively scheduled for Jan. 12, 2012.

While the Cafritz developers agreed to avoid a north connection to the development through Calvert Hills, the county's planning staff is recommending this idea be re-examined. , but others are concerned about the cut-through traffic it would create. What do you think?

The first step of making a proposed  a reality is underway. The College Park City-University partnership submitted a letter to the Prince George's County Public Schools with preliminary plans.
