UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Prince George's County

The warning is in effect through 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

Update, 3 p.m.: The National Weather Service has updated a severe storm warning to last until 9 p.m. in Prince George's County.

According to a report issued, the storm's intensity is increasing and severe weather may develop quickly.

Be on the lookout for frequent cloud-to-ground lightning and Penny- to nickel-sized hail along with wind gusts of more than 50 mph.

Original post, 1:50 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning for Prince George's County is in effect through 2:15 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

The storms could be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and isolated tornadoes, according to NWS.
