Report: College Park Shooter Dayvon Green Had Been Drinking

The UMD student shot two of his roommates on Feb. 12 before killing himself.

Dayvon Maurice Green—the 23-year-old University of Maryland student who reportedly shot two roommates over the winter in College Park before killing himself—had been drinking before the incident, according to autopsy results published in The Baltimore Sun.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner found that Green had a blood alcohol level of 0.14 percent, the paper reports.

In the early morning hours of Feb. 12, investigators say that , set several fires around his house on 36th Ave. in the Crystal Springs neighborhood.

When two of his roommates came outside to investigate, Green allegedly opened fire on them before taking his own life.

UMD senior was later pronounced dead. —a junior at UMD—was struck in the leg but survived after undergoing surgery.

Green had been diagnosed with a mental illness and prescribed medication before the incident, according to family members. Several outlets reported that he suffered from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Prince George's County police and state prosecutors have now closed their investigation into the shooting, according to the Sun.
