PGPD Offers Car Seat Safety Check-ups Friday

The Prince George's County Police will be on hand in Mt. Rainier to check-up on an existing car seats Friday.

Prince George's County Police will be available Friday in Mt. Rainier to check the safety of car seats already installed in cars.

With help of the members of the Bunker Hill Fire Station and the Prince George's Community Federal Credit Union, certified car seat technicians will check car seats for recall status and ensure car seats and booster seats are installed correctly for the child.

According to PGPD, at a recent car seat check-up event, 93 percent of the seats were either not safe for the child or improperly installed.

There is no fee for the check-up and the event is open to everyone.

Parents and concerned guardians can get help from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Bunker Hill Fire Station at 3716 Rhode Island Ave. in Mt. Rainier.
