Greenbelt Gearing up for Labor Day Festival

Art, Photo entries accepted today and Friday.

The 57th Greenbelt Labor Day Festival will kick off Friday with attractions that include amusement park rides, art and photo contests, a parade, crafts and much more.

You can find a complete schedule for the four-day celebration on the event website, but here are a few things to know today:

  • Entries for the art and photo shows are being accepted from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Community Center. Art show entries will also be accepted 10 a.m. to noon Friday.
  • If you know you want to get a wristband that allows your child to ride as many rides as possible, you'll want to pick up a voucher for $10 at the before noon Friday. Wristbands will cost $20 each if purchased at the festival. They are only valid for either 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday or noon to 4 p.m. Sunday (but not both days).
  • Pre-registration is required for the slow pitch tournament. Contact Andrew Phelan for more information at 301-397-2200.
