Today may be shaping up , but what better reason is there to brave the heat than the Farmers Market at Maryland?

Drop by the front of the Cole Student Activities Building Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (new hours) for a selection of fresh, local fare.

  • Bonaparte Breads: Bread and French pastries
  • Country Vittles from Critter Hill Farm: Summer special on chuck, shoulder, and sirloin tip roasts
  • Upper Crust Bakery: Freshly baked breads
  • McLeaf's Orchard: New or semi-new this week are apricots, blackberries, nectarines (yellow, white), peaches (yellow, white, donut), and plums; Continuing with arugula, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, Japanese garlic, garlic scapes, head lettuce (summer crisp), heirloom tomatoes, hot peppers, jalapeños, kale, Napa cabbage, okra, potatoes, red onions, spinach, spring onions, summer squash, Swiss chard, and tomatoes
  • Picnic Gourmet Spreads: Gourmet sweet and savory cheese spreads
  • Springfield Lamb of Kent County, Maryland: Lamb and sheep products
  • Valencia's Produce: New this week are cantaloupe and watermelon; Continuing with field tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, basil, corn, eggplant, carrots, cherry tomatoes, squash, onions, green beans

The Center for Health and Wellbeing will also come by to offer body composition testing, and personal trainers from Campus Recreation Services will be on hand to answer fitness-related questions.
