Little bites of news you just can't live without.

1. In case you missed it, the Tennis Center of College Park will in the world later this month for the Women’s Tennis Association Citi Open tournament. Tickets are still available.

2. Have you ever wondered about that mural on the east side of Route 1 by Berwyn Road? The one with the train station? Patch has a story later about the history of the artwork. Check back later today.

3. Anyone looking for a job should spend today brushing up your resume. There will be a job fair 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday at what will be the Barking Dog, taking the place of the Thirsty Turtle at 7416 Baltimore Ave. The establishment is hiring for all positions (cooks, bartenders, wait staff, bar backs, etc.).

4. Today's Featured Facebook page belongs to the University of Maryland University Archives. This page is just plan intriguing. The wall includes links to articles and stories about the university decades ago. (Preview: Apparently, students "rioted" in the mid-1990s, too, but for reasons other than the basketball team beating Duke. And there's some talk of a 1973 streak.) There are also photos of old mascot designs and events. Hunt the captions closely enough, and you'll find out where the "original Testudo" is now mounted...

5. It's another mild summer day with a high of 86 degrees and very little chance of precipitation. Expect a similar forecast Saturday and Sunday. Happy weekend!
