3. Over the weekend, the U.S. had a dramatic win over Brazil to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the World Cup. The U.S. team will play France 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

5. It will be stupid hot today with a high of 96 degrees, smashing the average high for the day of 88 degrees and four degrees shy of the record set in 1988. NOAA's National Weather Service reports that heat is the top weather-related killer in the United States and provides a list of heat safety tips.
