The Original College Park Diner 1940's

Sad but good news! Well it's sad to say that I will soon be offering the original College Park, Maryland Diner for sale.  I have changed plans and will offer it for sale in hopes someone will restore it and allow it once more to carry on the tradition of those great times when you could meet up with the buddies, watch a quick bit of the news and of course those home recipe meals.    It was actually named "Park College Diner".  I don't know the story behind that.   Many years ago it operated at 8205 Baltimore Ave. College Park, Md. where the McDonald's now sits.  I'll bet many of conversations went on, deals made, college tests discussed, etc.  It was even one of many locations where arrests were made during the 1962 sit-ins.  The good news is that it survived the wrecking ball.  After McDonald's purchased the land, the diner was taken to it's new resting place in Southern Maryland.  I discovered the diner there one day and purchased it and moved it to my property.   I'm looking for some input on the history, and as I have it, a man by the name of George Snyder owned it and transferred the business to Jack Sapienza at one point in time.  I have the information from there, but was interested in George Snyder if he is still alive, retired somewhere or general information where I could find some of his relatives.  I am putting the history of this diner together and will be selling it sometime in September to October of this year .  Interested parties can contact me at rtgodwin117@hotmail.com    A great opportunity to own a piece of history that is a one of a kind, native to College Park, Maryland!    Would make a great sun room, office building, Ice Cream parlor, or best yet, back to a Diner!
