WaPo Weighs In: Fishnet Review

"The shop's minimalist decor lets you focus on the food."

Have you been caught in the Fishnet, yet?

I'm talking about the new-ish seafood restaurant in Berwyn, where the former Berwyn Cafe used to be. . My summary: good salmon, great fries and so-so bread. I also had the opportunity to meet with the owner, Ferhat Yalcin, about his Istanbul inspiration.

The Washington Post recently paid a visit as well.

"The news that Ferhat Yalcin, a longtime dining room fixture at Corduroy in Washington, was flipping fish in a spot of his own sent me racing this month to College Park and a slip of a place," reviewer Tom Sietsema wrote.

Read about his experience here.

They've fixed the bread - they found a new baker, and it's pretty darn good now.

Ohh! That's good to know. Is it still ciabatta?

Yep. Same style, still vegan, but much fluffier and more, you know, edible.

Nice. Also, a fellow editor just passed this along... Fishnet made it into the top 10 restaurant openings this year in Washingtonian: http://www.washingtonian.com/blogarticles/restaurants/bestbites/22024.html All signs are pointing to me having to go back and check this place out again soon.
